G-Free Companies

The following is a list of companies that I have personally contacted about their products (and gotten a response from).  Most of these companies have products that are formulated without gluten but will say that they cannot garuantee that the products are 100% gluten-free due to the possibility of cross contamination on manufacturing equipment.  Products that I review on my blog are items that I myself feel safe using and by no means make a garuantee that they are safe for others to use. It is up to you to contact companies and determine whether or not you feel safe using these products yourself.  I actually would encourage everyone to contact companies anytime you have a question about a product and on a regular basis to make sure that the formula/ingredients for a product have not changed. This is especially a good idea when you are going to repurchase something or notice that there has been a change to the name or ingredients list.  In addition to keeping an up-to-date knowledge on all the products you love to use, the more frequently companies are contacted the more awareness it brings to the growing demographic of people with Celiac’s, gluten allergies, and sensitivities.  Knowledge and awareness is key!  And please feel free and welcome to share anything you find out as well.  This is a growing community that is always looking for new information!

  • NARS – All products are gluten-free. Yay! You can contact this company through their website www.narscosmetics.com
  • Smashbox – They offer a wide array of products formulated without gluten. Contact them through their website for a list of products: www.smashbox.com
  • Bare Escentuals – A list of gluten-free products is listed on their website under ‘Customer Service’, ‘FAQS’.  www.bareescentuals.com
  • Zoya - This nail polish company offers a huge assortment of gluten-free colors as well as a gluten-free nail polish remover.  To be sure for yourself contact them through their website www.zoya.com
  • OPI – Contact them through their website, www.opi.com, to get a list of products that do contain gluten so you know what to stay away from, as most of their stuff is gluten-free! (Ask them about Sephora by OPI, too! Pretty sure it’s gluten-free, also, and there are so many pretty colors!)
  • Butter London – Their nail polish is gluten-free.  Not sure about their other products though.  Contact them through their website: www.butterlondon.com
  • Philosophy – Contact their customer service line and ask for a list of their gluten-free products (They were helpful and nice when I did): 1-800-568-3151
  • Nestle – The people at Nestle are very nice and return emails quickly.  I had contacted them in regards to chocolate chips. Just email them through their website with what products you are concerned about and they will tell you if they are gluten-free or not!
  • Dial - I emailed them about their hand soaps and body washes and got a quick response from them stating that they do not add gluten to any Dial, Tone, or Pure & Natural Body washes.  All Dial hand soaps are gluten-free as well.  The company can be contacted through their website, though, at http://www.dialsoap.com/  (I've never seen this before, but per their email, I would avoid Coast Body Wash).
I will do my best to stay current on the G-Free status of these companies!  I will add to and take away from this list as soon as I hear back from any companies I’ve contacted.
